Are you or your loved one struggling with anxiety, depression, grief or addiction?
Are you dealing with work, family or relationship problems?
Are you going through a difficult transition and finding yourself stuck?
Do you want to enjoy your life instead of just survive it?

The demands and transitions of life take a toll on even the strongest person.  We tend to have the weight of the world on our shoulders with so many responsibilities and not enough hours in the day.  We can take care of others first, losing ourselves in the process.  We may have lost someone or something and now we feel lost.

We can become exhausted, frustrated, moody and start to lose hope.  We collapse at night, but our minds won't shut off.  We hide behind fake smiles and tell the world "I'm fine" when the truth is that  we are falling apart.  We may have stopped enjoying our life and are just surviving each day.  We might even feel like giving up.

With time, we can become physically and mentally sick.  We might start burying our thoughts with busyness or start using a substance to numb the pain.  Eventually, that can become a problem too.  We get sick and tired of being sick and tired.  I'm so glad you're here and at least considering counseling.  You don't have to keep living this way.
"I help people find more peace and happiness in their lives."
My counseling services provide you with a safe and comfortable place to share what hurts and work on what can help. Therapy can improve your well-being and overall mental health.  It can help you better understand yourself and others.  It can help with stress and life transitions.   It can help couples learn to engage and connect instead of just repeating the same hurtful patterns.  Counseling can help in so many different ways.
I do not believe in "one size fits all" counseling and utilize a variety of approaches tailored to your needs; after all, this is about you, not me.  You will find my style to be warm, creative, friendly, respectful and authentic.  I enjoy using a variety of techniques that engage the whole brain and help keep our sessions interactive.  I  create an informal environment so you can come as you are,  feel comfortable being you and receive my undivided attention.

I'm in my 5th decade of life and bring with me a wide range of life experiences.  I was a single mom for 16 years and am now a wife and stepparent in a blended family. We have three adult children and two adorable grandchildren.  I worked in Corporate America for 27 years while juggling parenting, home and college.  Counseling and psychology have been a passion of mine for many decades and I'm excited to be able to help others in this second career.  I have a Master's Degree in Counseling Psychology and I am licensed by the state of Texas in both counseling and chemical dependency.  I am also a certified Daring Way Facilitator, which is based on the research of Brene Brown. I'm an avid learner and participate in many seminars and conferences to ensure you are receiving the best services I can provide.

I accept BCBS, Aetna and Optum/United Healthcare insurances. Private pay rates are available here.
